Mumbai to host World Cup

MANGALORE, JULY 8. South Kanara Sports Club, as part of its golden jubilee celebrations, is organising the maiden World Cup kabaddi tournament at Mumbai from November 19 to 21. The Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation and the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India has granted permission to the club to organise this tournament, according to its general secretary, Jaya A. Shetty.India, Pakistan, Iran, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the UK, the West Indies, Germany and Nepal have already confirmed their participation for this event. Rashtriya Chemical and Fertiliser Rural Sports Trust had already sanctioned Rs. 5 lakhs to kick-start the activities of the organising committee.
