Rain mars play
BANGALORE,
JULY 8.
Rains disrupted the second match of the V. Karunakaran and D.S. Murthy Memorial All-India inter-club hockey tournament at the KSHA stadium here on Thursday.
Within five minutes of the start of the Indian Bank-Army Supply Corps fixture a heavy downpour forced the players off the field.
When the rains abated briefly, the match was re-started and Indian Bank took a 1-0 lead through Alfred Aseer off the first penalty corner in the 20th minute before rains forced abandonment of play . The rest of the match will be continued on Friday.
In the first match of the day, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Pioneer Corps Training Centre fought out a 1-1 draw. HAL's P.T Aiyappa and Pioneer's .K. Ekka were the goal scorers.
