A day of lop-sided contests
BANGALORE,
JULY 8.
Records tumbled in the Cottonian Shield inter-school cricket here as St. Joseph's Boys HS crushed Carmel HS by a massive margin of 373 runs in the under-14 section on Thursday.
St. Jospeh's openers, M.D. Amith (174) and David (166), went on a run riot and helped SJBHS post the tournament's highest total of 396 for two wickets in 30 overs.
Faced with a tall task, Carmel HS crashed to 23 runs and Shivaram claimed four wickets for two runs to complete the rout by a record margin.
SJBHS also recorded a facile 136-run victory over Bethany HS in the under-17 section. S. Ganesh slammed an unbeaten 107 for SJBHS.
