Hayden closing in on Lara, Dravid
London: Matthew Hayden's two centuries during the two-Test series against Sri Lanka have helped the Aussie opener close the gap with West Indies' captain Brian Lara and Indian vice-captain Rahul Dravid.
Although Hayden remains in the third place behind Lara and Dravid, he is now just seven points adrift of the Indian, according to the PricewaterhouseCooper Test ratings.
Among bowlers, comeback man Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne have shot to fifth and sixth places respectively in the table headed by world's highest wicket-taker Muttiah Muralitharan despite missing the series which Sri Lanka lost 1-0.
In the PwC one-day ratings, New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming has made his first ever foray into the top 10 batsmenafter his performance in the recent NatWest Series. Australian skipper Ricky Ponting and Indian Sachin Tendulkar are one-two in the list. PTI
