Thej Kumar in lead

SHIMOGA, JULY 15. National Champion (under-25) M.S. Thej Kumar took the sole lead in the all-India invitational FIDE-rated chess tournament.

Important results: Ninth round: P. Praveen Prasad (6.5) lost to M.S. Thej Kumar (8); Arvind Sastry (6) drew with Sriram Sarja (6.5); N. Sanjay (7) bt Vinoth Kumar (5.5); Y.G. Vijayendra (6.5) bt Vinay Kurtkoti (5.5); K. Shruthi (5) lost to Harsha Bondade (6). Thej bt N. Sanjay; Sriram bt Y.G. Vijayendra; Harsha lost to P. Praveen; Arvind bt S. Beno Glad (4.5); Naveen S. Hegde (4.5) drew with Rahul M. Ved (4.5).
