Indira Gandhi International Gold Cup revived

NEW DELHI, JULY 15. After eight years since it was last played, the Indira Gandhi International Gold Cup women's hockey tournament is being revived.

The Indian Women's Hockey Federation (IWHF) will conduct the tournament next year in September-October season. ``

We are giving enough time to the interested countries to adjust their calendar to take part in the tournament,'' said the IWHF Secretary, Amrit Bose.

This year, the IWHF is to host the Under-21 Junior Asia Cup in Hyderabad from October 30 to November 8.

Reigning champion Korea, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Hong Kong (China) and Singapore are all expected to participate in the tournament.
