MADURAI, AUG. 11. The Madurai High Court Bench today directed the inspector of Kadupatti police station in Madurai district to produce before the court a 24-year-old woman, allegedly kidnapped by her mother. Satish Kumar of Tirumangalam filed a `habeas corpus' petition stating that his wife, Prabha, had been abducted by the woman's mother, Sundaravalli, brother, Jeyapandiyan, and two others. The petitioner alleged that the Kadupatti police refused to register a case. Satish Kumar said Sundaravalli had been terrorising Prabha, whom he married legally in April 2004. The Bench, comprising Justice N.V. Balasubramaniam and Justice T.V. Masilamani, ordered the inspector to produce Prabha within a week.
