KOCHI, AUG. 12. A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today allowed the six vacancies in the posts of Munsiffs and Magistrates to be filled up by the candidates included in the rank list prepared for the posts. A single judge had earlier restrained the High Court Registrar from filling up the six posts, which were reserved for candidates belonging to the Muslim and Hindu-Kurava communities. The Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice, N. K. Sodhi, and Justice P. R. Raman issued the interim order while admitting appeals filed by the Registrar and a candidate selected for the posts of Munsiff-Magistrate against the single judge's verdict. The Bench made it clear that the appointments, if any, shall be subject to the final outcome in the appeals. The court also overruled the objection raised by the counsel for P. S. Karunakaran.
