End administrative impasse, says Murali

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 12 . Blaming the United Democratic Front (UDF) Government's performance as being mainly responsible for the rout of the Congress in Kerala, the former president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), K. Muraleedharan, today asked the Chief Minister, A. K. Antony, to end the `administrative impasse' in the State, triggered by uncertainties over the cabinet reshuffle.

Mr. Antony should either make changes in the cabinet or take steps to end the `administrative impasse', caused by the impression that changes in the Ministry were imminent, Mr. Muraleedharan told a press meet here.

Mr. Muraleedharan, cut up over denial of due representation to the `I' group in the recently recast KPCC, said that party work had also come to a standstill in the State. He added that he favoured party polls in the State, along with organisational elections at the national level, in June next. If the elected party committees were not in place, it would cost the Congress dear in the elections to the local bodies, due next year, he added. - PTI
