KOCHI, AUG. 19. The City Police Commissioner, Dhinendra Kashyap, has ordered that all vehicles parked in no-parking areas be towed by the traffic police. According to a police spokesperson, the Commissioner has also said that the Police Department would not be liable for the damage caused to the vehicle while towing. The owner of the vehicle would also be fined for parking in no-parking areas. The Commissioner also informed that vehicles which are not parked properly in the parking areas will also be fined or towed away if they are found to be obstructing the traffic. The orders follow the heavy traffic inflow into the city due to Onam shopping crowds. This has increased traffic blocks in the city due to indiscriminate parking of vehicles.
