Karnataka releases water to State
By Our Staff Correspondent
BIJAPUR,
AUG. 24.
Karnataka has released 243 thousand million cubic feet (tmcft) of water from the Narayanapur dam across the Krishna in the past 21 days, thanks to good rainfall in the catchment areas.
The State Government, which had earlier refused Andhra Pradesh's request for 50 tmcft of water, was forced to release water, as both its reservoirs across the Krishna (Narayanapur and Alamatti) are full. Today, the water level in the Narayanapur reservoir was 491.71 metres, against the full reservoir level (FRL) of 492.25 metres.
