Boy killed in cracker blast
By Our Correspondent
KAKINADA,
SEPT. 3.
A boy died of burns and three others, including two autorickshaw drivers, suffered severe burns when crackers, kept in an autorickshaw, blew off during the victory procession, taken out by a film star Mahesh on the eve of the successful screening of his film `Arjuna', on the main road, near Samudra Apollo Hospital centre, here, on Friday.
The boy, Allamapalli Nookaraju (12), a class V student, was in the autorickshaw in which a fan of the film star was travelling with a bundle of crackers. When the procession from Bhanugudi junction reached the hospital centre amidst bursting of crackers, one of the crackers sneaked into the vehicle and caused the explosion of the entire stock. Due to the impact of the explosion, the autorickshaw caught fire and the boy received 100 per cent burns.
