HYDERABAD, SEPT. 3. The Chief Minister, Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, will head a core committee of senior officials to be constituted for industrial development in the State for ensuring that MoUs signed with industrial houses are translated into actual projects. This has been necessitated by the fact that the previous TDP Government had failed to garner any benefits for the State despite signing of several MoUs.
Investor-friendly
Addressing a press conference here on Friday after returning from the CII summit at Bangalore, the Chief Minister said his Government would not let go any opportunity to project AP as an investor-friendly avenue. He said greater coordination between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh was also in the offing to facilitate growth of industries. Dr. Reddy said the Government was not anti-reform but was only ensuring justice to the farm sector neglected over nine years. It was as much pro-industry and pro-IT, he said. Development of farm sector was not going to be at the cost of the industry or vice versa. He said each had its role in the overall development of the State and the Government would extend all benefits to power and other growth engines.
Ripe time
Recalling his interaction with industrialists at Bangalore he said some of them had aired doubts over the problems of extremism and separatism (vis-a-vis Telangana) but were convinced about the ground realities. The time was ripe for Andhra Pradesh to benefit from the interest being evinced by industrial houses and it would be made a natural destination for industry captains. He said the Congress Government had no intention of ignoring the spade work done by the previous TDP Government in getting new industries and would follow it up.
