CHENNAI, SEPT. 8. A city-based teacher has bagged the silver award for Excellence in Education given by the Rustom Irani Foundation of Rustomji International School, Dahisar, Mumbai. Ms. Shoba Raman of Vidya Mandir School, Mylapore, won the award after a three-stage selection process that evaluated, among other things, the creative talents of the participants. Ms. Raman, a Chemistry teacher, was the winner at the semi-finals in the Chennai region and went on to the finals in Mumbai, in which she was placed second. The three winners of the event were honoured with a trophy, sash, tiara and cheque Rs. 15,000 each for the teacher and the school.
