CHENNAI, SEPT. 8. Krishnaswamy Associates, who are marking 40 years in film-making on Saturday, will launch a trilogy focusing on the past, present and future of India. Film-maker, S. Krishnaswamy, said the first in the `Indian Imprints' series would focus on country's influence over the rest of the world, particularly Asia. The Rs. 1.5 crores project would be completed in about 18 months. The second film will be on electoral reforms. The third is inspired by President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's, Vision 2020. The three films would be shot simultaneously. Plans are under way to make the films available on the Internet. The Union Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Culture, S. Jaipal Reddy, will attend Saturday's function and release a Tamil book (`Tamizh Pada Ulagin Thanthai director K. Subrahmanyam') on the life of director, K. Subrahmanyam, authored by Valampuri Somanathan. A video presentation, `500 Full Moons', will showcase four decades of Krishnaswamy Associates. The Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mani Shankar Aiyar, will hand over a cheque of Rs. 2,05,000 to the Ramakrishna Mission Students Home at the function. Mr. Krishnaswamy told newspersons that his company cross subsidises films of value with revenue from corporate and promotional films. Among the important films made by the company include `Indus Valley to Indira Gandhi' on Indian history; `India 5555' which was screened before the official visit of former U.S. President Bill Clinton to India; and `When the Gods Dance', a 33-episode television serial featuring 200 Indian dancers.
