Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, SEPT. 10 . Southwest monsoon has been active over Andhra Pradesh.

Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal and north interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, at many places over Rayalaseema, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over Tamil Nadu south interior Karnataka.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in cms: Covelong (Kanchipuram dt.) 10, Yellandu (Khammam dt.) 9 and Sattenapalli (Guntur dt.) 7.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Sathanur Dam (Tiruvannamalai dt.), Tambaram (Kanchipuram dt.) and Kodaikanal 5 each, Pudukottai, Thuckalay (Kanyakumari dt.), Calingapatnam, Karwar and Ankola (Uttara Kannada dt.) 4 each, Chennai, Chennai Airport, Sholingir (Vellor dt.), Redhills and Korattur (both Thiruvallur dt.), Pechiparai Dam (Kanyakumari dt.), Shirali, and Agumbe 3 each, Tiruvannamalai, Madurai Airport, Kanyakumari, Eraniel (Kanyakumari dt.), Chembarambakkam (Thiruvallur dt.), Pondicherry Airport, Tiruvaiyaru (Thanjavur dt.), Kakinada, Medak, Nandyal, Chilamattur (Ananthapur dt.), Honavar, Dharmasthala (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Karkala (Udupi dt.), Mangalore Airport, Panambur, Madikeri, Subramanya (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Coondapur (Udupi dt.), Siddapur (Uttara Kannada dt.), Rabkavi (Bagalkote dt.), Thiruvananthapuram Airport and Varkala (Thiruvananthapuram dt.) 1 each.

WEATHER FORECAST (valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Lakshadweep.
