Understanding corporate culture

CHENNAI, SEPT. 20. Students — past and present — of the Department of Social Work, D.G. Vaishnav College, were given an overview on Human Resources as a profession at PERFORM — Personnel and Employee Relations Forum, an annual event organised by the department. The forum was being held to train and motivate students towards corporate culture.

The theme of the day-long event was `Organisational Redesign — The role of HR.' Vidhya Srinivasan, head, department of Social Work, said the event aimed at giving the students a forum where they could directly interact with leaders of the industry that they would be part of, once they complete their two-year programme.

The speakers included R. Ramaraj, Managing Director of Sify, R. Santhanam, Managing Director of Hindustan Motors, and Rajiv Narang, Founder Director, Erewhon Consulting.
