BANGALORE, SEPT. 27. The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPICMACAY) will hold a two-day south zone convention on October 2 and 3 at the National Institute of Technology, Surathkal, in Dakshin Kannada. According to the organisation's founder-chairperson, Kiran Seth, the event will have workshops, performances by folk artistes, lectures and exhibitions. Dr. Seth said SPIC MACAY members from different parts of the country were expected to attend the convention. He said SPIC MACAY-Bangalore held its first advisory group meeting here on Sunday. Dr. Seth said he and some volunteers went to Pakistan in the first week of September, along with members of the Pakistan-India Peoples' Forum for Peace and Development, as part of that organisation's 60th anniversary celebrations. The experience was amazing, he said. "It was... a great meeting of cultures and arts," he added.
