NAMAKKAL, OCT. 3. The Bharatiya Janata Party State unit has faulted the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government at the Centre, for having ``failed on all fronts''. Resolutions, passed at the party's State Executive here yesterday and ratified by the general council today, took exception to the ``dualistic position'' of the Left parties with regard to policies. A resolution observed that the UPA Government policies to contain inflation and defence were taking the nation down the path of ``destruction''. The meeting criticised the Communists for their alleged ``double standards'' with regard to pricing of petroleum products, foreign experts in Planning Commission panels, foreign equity in airways, telecommunication and insurance sectors. Calling for enforcement of ``two-child a family'' norm, the party wanted the Centre not to harass Census officials for coming out with religion-wise distribution of population growth. The Congress ``moves to obliterate the contribution of various freedom fighters'' is seen by the BJP as an ideological war between the pseudo-secularists and true nationalists, a resolution said. Understandably, there were resolutions with regard to allies' position on the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president's statement on Bhagavad Gita and Lord Krishna apart from demand for restriction-less Vinayakar Chaturthi processions. The executive demanded reinduction of chapters on Alwars and Nayanmars in History textbooks. Another resolution urged the Centre to facilitate the Cauvery River Water Disputes Tribunal deliver its final verdict at the earliest. The party also wanted the Centre to expedite the Sethusamudram project. Other resolutions demanded a stamp on Si. Pa. Adithanar on his birth centenary this year, bringing teleserials under the ambit of the Censor Board and implementation of the Venugopal Commission recommendations on preventing communal clashes, especially a ban on construction of new places of worship near the existing ones of other denomination. The party president, Venkaiah Naidu, attended today's meeting, which was presided over by the State president, C.P. Radhakrishnan.
