Party row a closed chapter: Yechury
By Our Special Correspondent
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,
OCT. 3.
The CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, Sitaram Yechury, has said that the party State secretariat's statement marks `the end of the story' as far the controversy over party issues are concerned.
Replying to questions from reporters on the sidelines of the AKG birth centenary seminar here today, Mr. Yechury said the Kerala unit of the CPI(M) was capable of handling its affairs and there was no need for the party Polit Bureau to intervene unless asked to do so. He did not also see anything wrong with ideological debates taking place inside the party and open debates on such issues. On the `Fourth World' theory, he said there was no reason for any debate as the basic task before the party was to usher in socialism.
