Hero Honda profit up

CHENNAI,
OCT. 14.
Hero Honda has registered a rise of 22 per cent in its net profit in the first half year ended September 30, 2004 at Rs. 384.43 crores against Rs. 314 crores in the corresponding period in the previous year. Total turnover grew to Rs. 3,543 crores, a rise of 33 per cent over Rs. 2,661 crores recorded in the year-ago period, says a release.
The company achieved a total volume sale of 12.24 lakh motorcycles during the period, registering a jump of 35 per cent over volume sales in the corresponding period previous fiscal (9.05 lakh units). It also achieved the landmark figure of selling one crore motorcycles since its inception.
