Bashar included in squad
DHAKA,
OCT. 16.
Habibul Bashar, recovering from a right thumb injury, was retained as Bangladesh cricket captain for Tuesday's first Test against New Zealand, an official said Saturday.
Bashar has been included in the 14-member squad ``in the hope that he will fully recover'' before the start of the match, chief cricket selector Faruq Ahmed told reporters.
The team: Habibul Bashar (captain), Rajin Saleh (vice-captain), Khaled Mashud (wicket-keeper), Javed Omar, Mohammad Ashraful, Manjurul Islam, Tapash Baishya, Mushfiqur Rahman, Mohammad Rafique, Tareq Aziz Khan, Nafis Iqbal, Hannan Sarkar, Alok Kapali, Alamgir Kabir. — AP
