Vivek advances

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, OCT. 16. G.L. Vivek breezed into the second round in the boys' under-14 category of the 47th K.G. Menon memorial State ranking tennis tournament at the TTC club here on Saturday. Vivek defeated Akil Raveendran 7-1.

In the under-12 section, Vignesh V. Gopal moved into the second round with a 7-1 win over Mathew T. Lathra.

The results (first round): Boys (under-14): G.L. Vivek bt Akil V. Raveendran 7-1; Anand George bt Abhinav 7-3; Solomon G. Thomas bt Raj Krishnan 7-0; S. Sajin bt Pritish Kishore 7-0; U.K. Jayaram bt G.S. Siddarth 7-0. Under-12: Akhil Raj bt Abhinav 7-3; Vignesh V. Gopal bt Mathew T. Lathra 7-1; Vinay Dilip bt Mohammed Hamraz 7-1; Anand George bt S.S.Nikhil 7-0. Girls (under-12): Minu R. Raju bt Sneha Susan Thomas 7-3.
