Assisi Vidyaniketan `B' triumphs

KOCHI, OCT. 16. Jose Mathew shot home the match-winner as host Assisi Vidyaniketan `B' defeated Naval Public School 1-0 and won the Assisi Cup inter-school football tournament at Chembumukku on Saturday.

Assisi's Jose Mathew and Tony Kurien were adjudged as the tournament's best player and most promising youngster, respectively. Bentla D'couth, the country's first FIFA woman referee, gave away the prizes.

Other results (semifinals): Naval Public School bt Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya 1-0; Assisi Vidyaniketan `B' bt Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya 1-0.
