Ramanna Thoravi moves up

MYSORE, OCT. 16. Ramanna Thoravi of Bagalkot registered an easy 6-2 win over Anand of Sports Hostel (D'gere) and entered the pre-quarterfinals in the Dasara Kumar title bout (up to 66kg) in the 23rd State-level Dasara wrestling championship held at the Sri. D. Davaraja Urs Kusti Akkada here on Saturday.

The results: (First round):

Dasara Kumar (66kg): Ramanna Thoravi bt Anand 6-2; Manju (Dwd) bt Basavaraj (Dwd) 4-0; C. Prakash (D'gere) bt Parashuram 6-5; Manjunath (Dwd) bt Sunil (D'gere) 3-0; Siddappa (Dwd) bt Mohan (Gulbarga) 4-0.

Dasara Kishore (60 kg): Keshavamurthy (Shimoga) bt Lokesh (Kanakapura) 4-0; Ganesh (Bommanahalli) bt Thanvir Ahmed (Mys) 4-0; V. Santosh (Mys) bt Yatish (Harukoppa) 12-3; Harish (Ganjam) bt Sanjay Kumar (Kanakapura).

Friday's results:

Dasara Kanteerava (84 kg): Vinayaka (D'gere) bt Mahadeva (Mys) 6-3; Dasara Kumar (up 66kg): Manjunath Singh (Mys) bt Jagadish (Shimoga) 5-0; G. Nagaraja (KSP, D'gere) bt Hanumanth (Dwd) 4-0; Dasara Kishore (Up to 60 kg): M.B. Dalvi (Haliyal) bt Chinnu (Rumanahalli) 4-0.
