COIMBATORE, OCT 16 . Formula One hope of India, Narain Karthikeyan will start the first race on pole and second on grid in Race 2 in the eighth round of the Nissan World series championship, according to reports reaching here. The TATA RC motor sports driver clocked a time of 1.23.118s to set the fastest lap record at Valencia. Ricardo Zonta set the previous record in 2002 with a timing of 1.23.570s. Driving in the penultimate round, Narain set the record in the third lap of his first qualifying. In the second race, the fastest Indian in the World will start alongside Tiago Monteiro of Portugal in the front row.
Race 2: 1. Tiago Monteiro (Portugal) 1:23.262s, Narain Karthikeyan (India) 1:23.391s, 3. Heikki Kovalainen (Finland) 1:23.452s.
