`India-Pakistan veteran's cricket match likely'
ANANTAPUR,
OCT. 16.
The former Indian cricket captain, Ajit Wadekar, said on Saturday that a match between the veteran cricketers of India and Pakistan is likely to be held at the RDT stadium here in February 2005.
Mr. Wadekar was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the first National Vincent Ferrer triangular cricket tournament for the physically disabled.
Hailing the recently introduced central contract system, Mr. Wadekar said it would help improve the performance of players.
"The Indian team never had a quality opening pair after Vinoo Mankad and Mustaq Ali," he said referring to the poor show by the Indian openers. Our Staff Reporter
