VIJAYAWADA, NOV. 4. Puneet Jaiswal, with 6.5 points, emerged sole leader after eight rounds of the TVS Open National chess championships, for the Kusalava Motors Trophy, at the Vijayawada Club here on Thursday.
Seventh round: J. Malleswara Rao 5 lost to Puneet Jaiswal 6, M.B. Muralidharan 4.5 drew with I. Ramya Krishna 5, D.K. Sharma 5 bt Pradeep Arora 4, J. Ramakrishna 5 bt Saurav Roop 4, A. Nayak 5 bt Ram S. Krishnan 4, Amit Sharma 4 lost to Harish Sharma 5, Harsh Karnati 4.5 bt Raju J.K. 3.5, Subrahmanya Sarma D.A. 3.5 lost to G.V. Sai Krishna 3.5, Vikas Sharma 4 bt Ravindra Raju 3, Y.V.K. Chakravarthy 3 lost to Nitin 4.
