HYDERABAD, NOV. 4. Md. Sajid of Uttar Pradesh and Parimala Devi of Tamil Nadu won the boys and girls' singles titles respectively in the junior National carrom championship at Deogarh (Jharkhand) on Thursday, according to information received here. Sajid defeated S. Naveen of Hyderabad 25-23, 25-23 in the boys' final, while Parimala got the better of Sandhya of Bihar 25-12, 25-10. Hyderabad girls' combination of Ch. Srinica and G. Shrenica won the doubles title defeating Parimala Devi and Maheshwari of Tamil Nadu 25-12, 25-8. In the boys' doubles semifinals, V. Senthil Kumar and Silam Barasan of Tamil Nadu put it across Amir and Tanveer Ali of Uttar Pradesh 6-25, 25-19, 25-14. However, Tamil Nadu picked up two titles the youth boys and girls' singles events. Sundara Vinayagam defeated Mudassi of Bihar 25-13, 25-15, while Illavazhagi made short work of Gudiya Rani of Bihar 25-1, 25-5 in the girls' finals.
