Jewels, silver articles stolen from temple

KANCHEEPURAM, NOV. 7. Gold jewellery and silver articles, worth around Rs.10,000, have been stolen from Sri Muchanthiamman temple, Villivalam, near Wallajabad.

According to police, the temple officer, T.Valluvan, lodged a complaint with the Wallajabad police that gold jewellery weighing 10 grams and silver articles weighing 1.4 kg had been stolen from the temple yesterday.

Civic body complaint

An official of Maraimalai Nagar civic body has filed a complaint with the Maraimalai Nagar police last evening stating that a tipper-lorry parked in the office premises was missing. The civic body had purchased the tipper-lorry, worth Rs.9.5 lakhs, in June.

Boy runover

Nagappan (5) of Vembakkam, was killed in a road accident on the GST Road, Chengalpattu, yesterday.

According to police, a car hit Nagappan, while he was crossing the road near the new bus stand. He was rushed to the Chengalpattu Medical College Hospital, where he was declared dead.
