Hurriyat reunification likely: Mirwaiz

JAMMU, NOV. 22. The All-Party Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, today said reunification of the conglomerate was on the cards and there was now need to sink differences in the larger interest of the people of the State.

Talking to The Hindu before leaving for New Delhi to meet the Pakistan Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz, the Mirwaiz said: ``Yes, re-unification of the Hurriyat is on the cards and this would be done. I have been working for the unity and I think we would be together.''

The Mirwaiz said that he would meet Mr. Aziz and put across his viewpoint. Asked about the differences between him and Syed Ali Shah Geelani, leader of the pro-Pakistan faction of the Hurriyat Conference, he said: ``Everyone should be together in the larger interest of the people.''

Mr. Geelani has already left for New Delhi to meet Mr. Aziz.
