BANGALORE, NOV. 24. The World body building championship comes to India for the first time and Bangalore will host the mega best physique event on November 27 and 28. Over 200 body builders from 20 countries will participate. The event is being organised by Manjunath Hegde Foundation, along with the National Amateur Body Building Federation. Mr. Hedge, who himself was a body builder during his prime, called the event as dream that came true after a long wait of 12 years. " It was my dream that India should host such a championship since 1992 when I conducted an Indo-Pak Series and it has now become a reality,'' said Mr. Hegde. The championship will be held in both the men and women's sections. The men's section comprises of junior men, men professional and fitness events in short medium and tall classes. The women's contenders will vie in shape and fitness titles in under 30 and plus 30 years' age groups. The preliminary rounds of the meet will be held on Saturday at Golden Palms Hotel & Spa on the outskirts of the City and the finals are scheduled at Sree Kanteerava indoor stadium on Sunday evening.
