By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI,
DEC. 17
. The title, "Sangeetha Kalasarathy", was conferred on flute maestro N. Ramani by Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Sabha on the occasion of its 104th annual music festival.
It carried a cash prize of Rs 5,000, a gold medallion and a citation.
Sri Vishnuchitta Ramanuja Jeer Swami, who gave away the title, said though the sabha was one of the oldest in Chennai, it was yet to have an auditorium. But he was confident that it would have one soon, with the blessings of Lord Parthasarathy.
The former director of Doordarshan, A. Natarajan, and vocalist Madurai Seshagopalan felicitated Mr. Ramani. Later there was a violin concert by Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan.
