`Appu cooperating with probe team'

By Our Staff Reporter

KANCHEEPURAM, DEC. 21. The Chennai-based advocate, Purushothaman, today met Appu, arrested in connection with the Sankararaman murder case and now in police custody, in the investigation bungalow here, as per the Kancheepuram Judicial Magistrate Court orders.

Appu's counsel choice told reporters that Appu was `looking' good, both physically and psychologically and was extending full cooperation to the investigation team.

Asked whether any decision was taken on moving a bail application, Mr. Purushothaman said there were plans to move a bail application in the District Sessions Court at Chengalpattu. A final decision would be taken by tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the special investigation team interrogated half-a-dozen bank managers in the investigation bungalow.

The team also questioned a Sanskrit pandit from Tenali in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, reportedly in connection with the death of a vedic student, whose body was recently found in a temple tank at Kancheepuram.
