By Our Staff Reporter
CUDDAPAH,
DEC. 22.
An eerie calm prevailed in Jammalamadugu constituency, where heavy police bandobust was deployed on Wednesday to avert any retaliatory attacks in the wake of the conviction of the former Minister, P. Ramasubba Reddy, and seven others. The police promulgated prohibitory orders under Section 141 and arranged protection to important persons, houses and other properties of both Congress and Telugu Desam Party groups, according to the Jammalamadugu DSP, K.N. Bhaskaran. Armed police patrols consisting of three circle inspectors, four sub-inspectors, four sections of Armed Reserve personnel and local police moved around in sensitive areas, he said.
