New recruits join CBI

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, DEC. 30. A batch of 31 sub-inspectors (S-Is), who were directly recruited to the Central Bureau of Investigation through Staff Selection Commission last year, were today inducted into various branches of the premier investigative agency.

A CBI spokesperson said the new recruits were inducted at a ceremony held at the CBI Academy in neighbouring Ghaziabad. Speaking at the occasion, the CBI Director, U.S. Misra, exhorted the cadets to keep honing their investigating skills as they were the backbone of the CBI.

Mr. Misra said since many of the cases coming to the CBI involved highly placed people, the personnel would have to be careful in their investigations while being polite in their dealings. He also asked the cadets to be prepared for handling cases involving conventional crimes, cyber crimes and financial frauds.

The S-Is cadets had joined the Academy on 31st October, last year, and underwent 59 weeks of training. The programme was spread over two phases of 30 weeks and 11 weeks respectively, with 18 weeks of practical training in between.
