NAGAPATTINAM, JAN.12. The Usthi Foundation India, a registered social welfare organisation and working for nearly three decades in West Bengal and Orissa, is now engaged in relief work in the tsunami-affected area of Tharangambadi in Nagapattinam district. Milton Edward McCann, secretary-general of the foundation, who came here with a large number of rapid action volunteers force, after discussing with the district officials, took up the relief work at Tharangambadi and provided relief materials to 3,400 persons a few days ago. Again, yesterday and today Mr.McCann with his scores of volunteers undertook relief work at Chandrapadi, Chinnangudi, Chinnorpettai and Valloko and provided relief to 7,750 persons belonging to nearly 1,011 families and provided food, rice, dhal, edible oil, utensils, small cooking stoves, buckets, blankets, medicines, garments, etc.
