Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, JAN. 22. The sky will be partly cloudy on Sunday with a possibility of very light rain in some areas. Minimum temperature is likely to be about 25 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, Nungambakkam recorded a high of 31 degrees Celsius and a low of 24.8. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Meenambakkam were 31.2 degrees Celsius and 24.6. Humidity was 87 and 79 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended on Monday in parts of Egmore, Kilpauk and Vysarpadi between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work.

Competitions

The Children's Club, Mylapore, will hold interschool competition on Sunday in recitation of poems in Tamil, English and Sanskrit for students of class sixth to ninth. For details, contact 28474140.

Krishnaswamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar, will conduct inter-school competitions in colouring, painting, essay writing in Tamil and English on January 30 at its premises.

Speed tests

Tips on exam preparation

Students of Kalamandir Matriculation Higher Secondary School learnt how to prepare for board examinations at a programme organised on Friday. The students were also taught about health and the methodology of learning.

Prizes given

Students of DRBCCC Hindu College, Pattabiram received prizes for recitation of Tiruppavai and Tiruvempavai at the Pavai festival organised last week.

The principal of the college, N. Rajendra Naidu also took part.
