Uttam Yudh Seva Medal for Lt. Gen. Hari Prasad

JAMMU,
JAN. 27.
The Army Commander Northern Command, Lt. Gen. Hari Prasad, has been awarded the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM) for his professional acumen, humane touch and ability to synergise the efforts of the Army with those of the Jammu and Kashmir Government and other agencies involved in counter terrorism and rehabilitation operations.
`Physical domination'
In a press release here, the Defence spokesman said, ``Lt. Gen. Hari Prasad, who commands the strategic Udhampur-based Northern Command handled the internal and external situation in Jammu and Kashmir which encompassed an active operation and an intense proxy war across the whole spectrum of the terrain and environmental variation with élan. While maintaining the sanctity of the LoC, he achieved physical domination and moral ascendancy over the adversary. He broke the backbone of terrorist movement in Jammu and Kashmir.'' Lieutenant General Hari Prasad has demonstrated extraordinary strategic acumen and great conceptual thought in higher direction of combat forces under most trying circumstances.
