Bail plea rejected
By A Correspondent
RANCHI,
JAN. 27.
The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Ranchi today rejected the bail petitions of three candidates from different political parties who were arrested on January 25 while filing their nominations.
The Congress MLA, Dev Kumar Dhan, the Jharkhand Janadhikar Party president, Bandhu Tirkey and Lok Janshakti Party candidate, Uday Shankar Ojha, filed bail petitions on the ground that they were unable to campaign from jail.
However, the CJM turned down their requests. The court held that the petition did not carry any merit and they had to be in custody till the expiry of the judicial order on February 5.
They have been charged with breaching the peace while spearheading the domicile movement in favour of their respective communities in the State a couple of years back.
