VIJAYAWADA, FEB. 9. Sri Maha Mrithyunjaya Japa Yagna, aimed at world peace, will be organised for 108 days from February 11 to May 30 at the Siva Sai Kshetram located adjacent to the bypass road near Kanchikacherla on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway. The Siva Sai Kshetram Chairman, Gadde Prasad, the Kanchikacherla Sarpanch, Gadde Saraswathi, and the Visakhapatnam Sarada Peetham Dharmadhikari, Y. Loknatha Sarma, said on Wednesday that the "viswa santi yagam" would involve an expenditure of Rs. 2 crores. In a press release issued here, they said that a maha yagnam of this kind was not held in this area in the recent past and a yagnam for 101 days was held at Khammam sometime ago. On different days during the maha yagnam, the peethadhipathis of different peethams would participate in it.
