PATHANAMTHITTA, FEB. 10. The 110th edition of Maramon convention, billed as the largest annual Christian congregation in Asia, will be held on the sand-bed of the Pampa river at Maramon near Kozhencherry from February 13 to 20. Addressing a press conference at Maramon on Wednesday, the Mar Thoma Evangelical Association (MTEA) general secretary, Fr. T.O. Joseph, said that Bishop Duleep D. Chikera from Sri Lanka, Canon Andrew Noels from England, James Heyer from Australia, Valsan Thambu from New Delhi and C.A. Benjamin from Bangalore would be the main speakers at this year's meet. The Mar Thoma Metropolitan, Philipose Mar Chrisostum, will inaugurate the convention at 2.30 p.m. on February 13. The MTEA president, Geevarghese Mar Athanasius, will preside over the inaugural function. Canon Andrew Noels will deliver the discourse later. The Suffragan Metropolitans of the Mar Thoma Church, Joseph Mar Irenaeus and Zacharias Mar Theophilus, Mar Athanasius, Geevarghese Mar Theodesius, Yuyakim Mar Coorilos, Joseph Mar Barnabas, Thomas Mar Themothios and Isaac Mar Phelexinos will deliver discourses at the week-long convention. The discourses will begin at 10.30 a.m., 2.30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on all days from February 14 to 19. Bible classes will be held separately for men and women at 7.30 a.m.
