TIRUNELVELI, FEB.10 . The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has donated fishnets worth Rs.6.50 lakhs to 65 tsunami-hit fishermen of Idinthakarai. The international vice-president of the VHP, S. Vedantam, distributed the fishnets to the beneficiaries at a function held at Idinthakarai on Tuesday. Mr. Vedantam said the VHP had proposed to construct 100 houses to the fishermen at Nagapattinam, the worst affected district in the State and the president of the organisation, Ashok Singhal, would distributed boats, engines and nets to 10 fishermen of Nagapattinam on February 15.
