Threatening posters

By Our Correspondent

ADILABAD, FEB. 10. Two wall-posters, seemingly issued by Maoists, warning five unnamed important persons of Tamsi mandal, have sprung up at the Tamsi mandal headquarters village on Wednesday night.

The posters were issued in the name of Chandranna, secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), North Telangana special zone committee.

The poster threatening `errant' villagers have taken the police by surprise because the area, near Adilabad headquarter town, is not known for naxalite movement. In red ink, the warnings tell persons concerned to discontinue money lending, sell good quality groceries at `proper' prices and pay salaries in time to agricultural labourers.

The Tamsi SI, Ahmed Hussain, peeled off the posters on Thursday morning. The police is checking on the veracity of the posters.
