HYDERABAD, FEB. 10. The Telugu Desam Party has asked the Government to completely implement the Girglani Commission report and the House Committee findings on the violation of the GO No. 610. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the TDP general secretary, R. Prakash Reddy, who headed the House Committee to study the implementation of six-point formula welcomed the Home Minister, K. Jana Reddy's announcement that 3,015 police personnel working in twin cities would be repatriated to their native districts. Mr. Prakash Reddy said it would be better if the Government implemented the same rule for all departments. The Girglani Commission and the House Committee reports should be given an indepth look and implemented without fail. The House Committee had found violation of the GO No. 610 in recruitment in the Judicial Department, he observed. To a question, he said it would be better if the Government could constitute another House Committee to look into the violation of the six-point formula. He went on record stating that the legal adviser to the earlier Government had misled the House Committee on the violations. He asked the Government make public the Girglani Commission and the House Committee reports.
Poser to Congress
At another press conference, TDP general secretaries -- Shoba Nagi Reddy and Renuka -- questioned the Government whether it would fulfil its poll promise of implementing prohibition in a phased manner or not. They said the Congress had taken the women of the State for a ride by reversing its poll promise by initiating steps to increase the number of wine shops.
An eye opener: TRS
The TRS on Thursday said that it would bring pressure on the Government to implement the recommendations of the Girglani Commission and to repatriate employees working in different departments in violation of the GO No. 610. Addressing a press conference here, TRS MLAs -- K. Nagesh and Padma Devender Reddy -- said that Girglani Commission's report on the violation of the presidential order was an `eye opener' to those opposing separate Telangana. They said that 60, 000 jobs were given to others in various departments. While thanking Mr. Jana Reddy for announcing that more than 3000 policemen would be shifted to their native districts, they said that justice could be rendered to people of Telangana only if a separate State was achieved.
