THIRUVALLA, FEB. 10. Mar Thoma College, Thiruvalla, retained the title in the Mahatma Gandhi University inter-collegiate women's cricket championship with a comfortable win here on Thursday. Mar Thoma defeated St. Teresa's (Ernakulam) and BCM (Kottayam) comfortably in the three-team league event to take the title.
St. Teresa's, Ernakulam 99 for eight in 20 overs lost to Mar Thoma, Thiruvalla 102 for six in 19.1 oves (Sinimol Mathew 42 n.o.).
Mar Thoma 225 for three in 20 overs (Amritha 79, Renjini Thomas 58) bt BCM, Kottayam 48 in 14 overs (Subitha four for 12).
Final placings: 1. Mar Thoma (two wins), 2. St. Teresa's (1 win), 3. BCM.
Best player awards: Jyothi (St. Teresa's, bowler), Subitha Poovatta (Mar Thoma, fielder), Sinimol Mathew (Mar Thoma, woman of the final match), Amritha Arvind (woman of the series).
