Quakes rock Assam

GUWAHATI, FEB. 15. Two earthquakes of moderate intensity rocked Assam and its adjoining areas in Meghalaya at 4.45 p.m. and 6.35 p.m. respectively today. Officials at the Seismological Centre at Shillong told The Hindu that the epicentre of the first earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale was located in the lower Assam region .
