I will back neither Lalu nor NDA: Paswan
By Vidya Subrahmaniam
PATNA,
FEB.15.
The Lok Jan Shakti Party leader, Ram Vilas Paswan, told The Hindu today that his party would not support either the Rashtriya Janata Dal or the Janata Dal (United) or the Bharatiya Janata Party in the event no party got a majority in the Bihar Assembly election. "I will have nothing to do with either Lalu Prasad or the BJP."
Mr. Paswan said he had joined the RJD alliance in Bihar for the Lok Sabha election only because of the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi. He said his relations with Mr. Prasad were not good even at that time. Mr. Paswan said he would offer himself for the post of Chief Minister only if the Congress-LJSP alliance got a majority. However, his party was not averse to an arrangement where a Congress Chief Minister was supported by the RJD and the LJSP from outside.
