NEW DELHI, FEB. 18. The principal and the vice-principal of two Government schools and their two businessmen friends, who were arrested by the North-West Delhi police on charges of criminally assaulting a 16-year-old girl at a PWD rest-house were today remanded to 14-day judicial custody by a Delhi court. The accused -- Om Prakash Sharma, the acting principal of Middle School at Raghubir Nagar; Ved Prakash Sharma, the vice-principal of Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya at West Patel Nagar; Jagdish and Om Prakash -- were produced by the police before Metropolitan Magistrate, M.K. Gupta, at Tis Hazari Courts. The incident had occurred on the intervening night of February 12 and February 13 when Om Prakash Sharma and Ved Prakash Sharma had taken the victim to the PWD rest-where where their two other accomplices were already waiting for them. The four allegedly criminally assaulted the girl before dropping her near her residence the following morning.
