NEW DELHI, FEB. 20. Harsh Mankad gained a much needed boost ahead of the Davis Cup tie next month, winning the doubles title in the third leg of the ITF men's Satellite event in Britain this week.

Seeded second, Mankad and his American partner Eric Butorac defeated Flavio Cipolla and Alessandro Motti of Italy 6-7(3), 6-3, 7-6(8) to lift the title.

Mankad, however, suffered a setback in the singles, going down to Matthew Smith of Great Britain 7-6(5), 6-1 in the quarterfinals. — PTI
